CSUN Front Row Adds Push Notifications

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -

Users of CSUN Front Row, the official app of Cal State Northridge Athletics, are now able to stay in contact with the Matadors like never before thanks to debut of Version 2.0. The updated version of the app, which was released by PrestoSports on Wednesday evening, includes the addition of push notifications and also addresses minor software bugs and performance issues.

"Front Row users no longer have to constantly check the app to catch the latest news and scores. Push notifications are as quick as a text message and give fans direct access to box scores, recaps and more," said Robb Modica, Director of Mobile at PrestoSports. "It is like an express lane to the Matadors content fans are looking for."

In the first iteration of CSUN Front Row, users needed to be proactive in checking scores and news by opening the app and searching by sport. With the release of Version 2.0, fans can now sign up to receive alerts from all of their favorite sports at Cal State Northridge.

To get started, fans must update the CSUN Front Row app in either the Apple App Store or on Google Play. Upon launching the updated version, fans can click the "More" tab located at the bottom right of the screen and select "Notifications." A pop-up option will appear to allow CSUN Front Row to send you push notifications and after accepting fans will be able to choose which sports for which they'll receive alerts.

"When we were in the early stages of bringing CSUN Athletics to mobile devices a top priority was to provide an app to fans that was thorough, convenient and easy to use," said Assistant Sports Information Director Kevin Strauss. "Push notifications were high on our list of features to incorporate and we thank and congratulate the team at PrestoSports for this much-anticipated release."

Currently, users can only opt in to receive all alerts from a particular sport. As of now notifications will be limited to final scores and breaking news, such as a rain delay for baseball or a career milestone met by coaches and student-athletes.

In addition to scores and live stats (when available), CSUN Front Row provides fans with the ability to launch audio and video feeds of CSUN competitions, see upcoming events and find information and stats for particular sports. Fans can also follow along with up-to-the-minute news by viewing the department's Twitter profiles all in one place.

CSUN Front Row is free to download on iOS and Android devices and has over 2,300 unique users. For more information and links to download, please visit www.gomatadors.com/frontrow.
