Northridge, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge Athletic Department has announced that the deadline to compete in the annual Matador Golf Classic has been extended to June 17.
This annual event is a great opportunity for participating golfers to help support the 20 sports, coaches and the nearly 400 student-athletes at Cal State Northridge.
The money raised in past years has benefited Cal State Northridge Athletics in their pursuit of victory on the court, the field and in the pool. Already this year, Cal State Northridge has enjoyed a highly successful season with Big West Championships in men's basketball, men's and women's track & field, and women's water polo.
Individual golfers can enjoy the day for only $175. A foursome can be purchased for only $700, and individual CSUN faculty/staff members can enjoy the day for only $150.
The entry fee includes green fees, cart, range balls, breakfast, an on-course lunch, refreshments throughout the day, dinner, and team and individual prizes.
"This is always a fun event," said Bonnie Murphy, Matador women's head golf coach, and one of the tournament's organizers. "This is a great opportunity to meet the coaches, several student-athletes, enjoy a great day on the course, and help benefit the coaches and student-athletes at Cal State Northridge Athletics."
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the shotgun starts at 11:00 a.m.
Various members of the coaching staff will be playing or on-course assisting with different on-course competitions.
Space is limited. Call (818) 677-3208 for reservations.
There are also several sponsorship packages that are still available.
