Eighteen Matadors Earn All-Big West Academic Honors
Eighteen Cal State Northridge student-athletes received All-Big West Academic honors on Thursday as announced by the conference. The women's track and field team led all Spring squads with six honorees, while the baseball and softball teams each had four.

Seniors Comfort Agara (Houston, TX), Jeanene Gerry (Camarillo, CA), Malinda Malone (Lakeview Terrace, CA) and Carol Stevenson (Burnaby, Canada), along with junior Tukia Vakalahi (San Bernardino, CA) and sophomore Tori Curtis (Northridge, CA) earned the honor for the women's track and field squad.

Two seniors on the baseball team, Quinn Ciccarelli (Arcadia, CA) and Nathan Hochgesang (Fullerton, CA), as well as junior Drew Aguailar (Lompoc, CA) and sophomore Kyle Jean (Bakersfield, CA) were named to the team.

Representing softball were seniors Shannon Acevedo (Corona, CA) and Sondra Milchiker (Lake Forest, CA), junior Jenny Wheeler (San Jose, CA) and sophomore Emilee Moores (Las Vegas, NV).

Juniors Roy Hooks (Los Angeles, CA) and Jason Romero (Pomona, CA) from men's track and field, senior Alexis Arnold (Stevenson Ranch, CA) from women's golf and sophomore Olga Yepremian (Sherman Oaks, CA) also made the team.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, have attained a sophomore standing academically and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.

Thirty-eight Matadors earned Big West All-Academic honors in 2003-04 following the 16 that won the award in the Fall and the four that earned the honor in the Winter.
