Kelly Korras enjoyed outstanding success as a student-athlete on the softball field and the classroom at Chaminade University in Honolulu.

Korras is now enjoying success in her academic career. Two years ago, Korras joined the Cal State Northridge athletic department as an intern in the Compliance office. Her career plans have moved in the right direction. In April, 2014, Korras was named the department’s Compliance Coordinator.

Her job responsibilities as Compliance Coordinator are many. They include interim advisor for SAAC, interim Life Skills Coordinator, and pre-enrollment compliance assistant. Other responsibilities include Social Media Education/Operations of CSUN’s Compliance Twitter, an assistant on National Letters of Intents, Athletic Aid, and Book programs, community service and promotional activities for CSUN’s student-athletes, and as a member of the Matador Athletic Staff Council.

Korras was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, but was raised in Northridge, Calif. As a student-athlete at Chaminade High School, Korras successfully competed in softball. She helped her high school team to the CIF championship in 2006.

Her athletic talents led to Glendale College where she emerged as one of the top players in the Western States Conference. Her awards included the league’s Pitcher of the Year (2008), an All-State selection (2008), the school’s Women’s Softball Player of the Year (2008) along with being named the Glendale College Softball Rookie of the Year in 2007.

Her athletic talents led to Chaminade University in Honolulu where she competed in softball and cross country. While at Chaminade, Korras gained PacWest Scholar-Athlete accolades in 2010 and 2011.

Korras graduated Cum Laude with a BA degree in English and Marketing from Chaminade. She continued her academic studies at the University of San Francisco where she earned her MA degree in Sports Management.

Korras continued her softball career as a member of the 2012 South African National team that competed in the ISF World Championships.

She was also head varsity softball coach at the Westridge School for Girls in 2012 and 2013.
