SAAC to Hold Clothing Drive at Six April Home Games

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- CSUN's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will collect clothing for all sizes and ages at home games during the month of April, benefitting the Good Shepherd Shelter. SAAC will collect clothes at a total of six home games this month, with the final collection date wrapping up the Matadors' National Student-Athlete Week celebrations. At ticketed events, fans who donate will receive free admission. Fans who donate at the Beach Volleyball games on April 20 will also receive Neon T-shirts.

WHEN:

Saturday, April 9 – Women's Water Polo vs. Hawai'i at 12:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 16 – Softball vs. UCSB (Doubleheader) at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – Free admission with donation

Wednesday, April 20 – Beach Volleyball vs. LMU at 10:00 a.m. and vs. UCLA at 2:30 p.m. - Free Neon T-shirts with donation

Friday, April 22 – Baseball vs. Hawai'i at 3:00 p.m. – Free admission with donation

CSUN Athletics' official website, www.GoMatadors.com, will feature special content celebrating CSUN student-athletes during the week of April 18 as part of National Student-Athlete Week, and the week will culminate with the SAAC clothing drive and a SAAC ceremonial first pitch at the day's baseball game.

Matadors have donated items and their time to the Good Shepherd Shelter many times in the past, and the women's soccer team enjoys an ongoing relationship with the shelter. The Good Shepherd Shelter provides a safe, nurturing environment in which mothers and their children can heal, reawaken their dignity and self-confidence and learn the skills that will help them stop the cycle of domestic violence.
