Junior Ashlee Guay between the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points when she recorded 13 points in the Matadors' victory at UC Riverside on Jan. 30. Two days later, Guay scored 26 points and played all 45 minutes as the Matadors downed Hawai'i for the first time in program history.
Guay has had quite a successful junior season for the Matadors. She has already broken the school record for career steals (217) and set a single-game record with eight 3-pointers vs. UC Irvine.
For the season, Guay is averaging a team-best 15.5 points per game, the eighth-best figure in the Big West Conference. She also ranks sixth in the league in assists per game (3.8), sixth in steals per game (1.5) and eighth in field goal percentage (.432).
Entering the Feb. 6 home contest vs. UC Davis, Guay needs four assists to set a new program all-time record in that category as well.
