Senior Lorraine Cheung enters had a solid week on the courts last week and enters her final regular season home match tied for the team lead with 12 singles victories.
Originally from Hong Kong, Cheung improved to 12-6 on the season by going 1-1 in matches against Westmont and UC Santa Barbara last week. In doubles play, Cheung is 11-8 on the year and won both of her matches last week by teaming with Criss Rodriguez.
The team's only senior, Cheung has served as a mentor and leader for a young Matador squad in 2014. The team has posted a 12-8 overall record and 3-4 mark in Big West play. Cheung has scored impressive singles victories over Cal Poly, LMU, Florida International, Montana, Boise State, New Mexico State and Cal State Fullerton.
A 2013 All-Big West Honorable Mention for her work in doubles, Cheung carries a career record of 46-27 (.630) in singles and 39-26 (.600) over her four-year Matador career.
