Louis Cohen made his CSUN debut against #22 UCLA in the home opener and pitched 1.2 innings, striking out two hitters and not allowing a run. He followed that performance up by striking out two in the 11th inning against Northwestern (2/25 Game 2) for his first career win.?Cohen picked up his first collegiate save the next day after getting one strikeout in a scoreless ninth.?He earned his second save by pitching the last three innings without allowing a base runner against San Diego (3/1) and had retired a combined 16 straight hitters before issuing a walk at San Diego State (3/4). Cohen picked up his second win after 1.2 innings against Indiana (3/11). In the series at St.?Mary’s, he pitched 4.0 innings and struck out three batters (3/23-25). Cohen earned his third save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning at UC Santa Barbara (4/7) and picked up his third win against CSU?Bakersfield (4/10). He pitched a season-high four innings and matched a high with three strikeouts, getting the win over #27 Cal Poly (4/14 - Game 1).?Cohen made his first start at #11 UCLA (4/17) and pitched 3.1 innings. He earned his fourth save by throwing 2.0 scoreless innings against CSU?Bakersfield (4/24).?Cohen threw a season-high 5.0 innings with two strike outs to help CSUN to a 12-inning win over Long Beach?State (4/28). He pitched 3.2 innings in relief at UC?Riverside and was credited with his sixth win in the extra-inning CSUN?victory (5/4).?Cohen threw a total of 2.0 innings in the series win over UC?Irvine (5/11 - 5/13), picking up a save on Saturday and the win on Sunday afternoon.?He picked up a save in the finale win over UC?Davis (5/20) to bring his total to six.
