Cole Hallum pitched 2.1 innings and struck out one in his first collegiate appearance, earning a save on Opening Day. He came back and threw 2.2 innings and struck out one against #22 UCLA. Hallum pitched 2.1 innings against Northwestern and struck out four batters as the Matadors tied the game in the ninth and won in 11 innings (2/25 - Game 2). He matched his season high with 2.2 innings thrown against San Francisco (3/2) and allowed three hits. Hallum struck out the last batter of the game in the finale vs.?Indiana (3/11) to get his second save of the season.
CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL
Hallum was a two-sport athlete for the Golden Hawks, also competing in football until his junior year. He played four years of baseball as a utility player and pitcher for head coach Randy Roberts. Over his career, he earned All-League and All-Area honors for baseball and football and also was named to the 3rd Team All-State for his work on the diamond. Hallum graduated from Centennial in 2011.
