NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
Open tryouts for the 2014-15 CSUN Baseball team are scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2014, head coach Greg Moore announced Thursday. Tryouts will take place at Matador Field, the home of the Matadors, beginning at 4 p.m.
The Matadors welcome all CSUN students enrolled in a minimum of 12 academic units in the fall semester that are interested in trying out for the team. All potential tryout participants must complete a tryout packet and return it to the baseball office, located in Matador Hall, no later than Friday, August 29th at 12 p.m.
Additionally students must provide the results of a sickle cell test, which may be performed by their personal physician. Finally, players will need to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse to establish eligibility and provide their unique ID number with the tryout packet.
The Matadors compete in the highly regarded Big West Conference in NCAA Division I, which fielded four teams in the 2014 NCAA Tournament and one that reached the College World Series.
