Northridge, Calif. – Cal State Northridge scored early and often to hand Cal Baptist University a 86-51 beating in an exhibition game on Saturday afternoon at the Matadome.
At the 13:09 mark of the first half, the Matadors held a 13-9 lead, and then scored 12 straight points to take a 25-9 lead at 11:41.
Cal State Northridge enjoyed a 49-22 lead at halftime. The Matador lead ballooned to as many as 36 points, 77-41, with 7:02 remaining in the game.
Sophomores Josh Greene and Aqeel Quinn combined for 33 points to lead the Matador attack. Greene tallied a game-high 18 points (4-for-7 from the floor) and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Freshman guard Allan Guei added 13 points.
John Hayward-Mayhew and Thomas Jacobs each tallied a team-high eight rebounds
Cal State Northridge outrebounded Cal Baptist, 51-37.
The Matadors open the 2010-11 regular season on Nov. 11 at USC. Game time at the Galen Center is 8:00 pm.
