Voted the Pete Cassidy's Coach's Award ... Scored a season--high 20 points (6-for-8 from the floor, 3-for-5 from behind the arc) along with three assists and three steals against Cal Poly (1/22/11) ... Tallied 16 points (4-for-8 from 3-point territory) against Santa Clara (12/22/10) and another 16 points vs Cal State Fullerton (3/10/11) ... Scored 15 points (three 3-pointers) vs Tulsa (11/28/10) at the 76 Classic and against Cal State Fullerton (1/15/11) ... The team leader in three-pointers with 51 (1.58 pg) ... Tallied at least one three-pointer in 25 of the 32 games ... Scored at least three 3-pointers in ten games ... Had a career-high eight assists vs UC Davis (12/30/10) ... Played in 32 games, second-best for a single season in school history.
2009-10 Season (Sophomore)
Winner of the Newt Meyers Sportsmanship Award ... A double-digit scorer in 12 games ... That included a 22-point effort (9-of-10 free throws) against Seattle (1/11/10) ... Hit a team-leading 53 three-pointers (1.7 per game), ninth-best in the Big West Conference ... Played in 32 games, second-best for a single season in school history.
Due to NCAA rules and regulations, redshirted the 2008-09 season at Cal State Northridge after transferring from Sacramento State.

Captured Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year honors in addition to being an honorable mention all-league choice ... Started 27 of 28 games ... Averaged 12.1 points (#2 on the Hornets) and 5.1 assists per game (142) ... Also among the team leaders in steals (38) and three-point goals (50) ... Set a freshman school record with 30 points against Montana State ... Set a varsity school record with 14 assists against William Jewell ... A two-time first team All-Oakland Athletic League selection ... During his senior season, led his team to a 28-4 overall record, a league title, the northern California Division I championship, and the school's first appearance in the state championship ... Finished his senior season with averages of 15.8 points, five assists and 3.5 steals per game ... In addition, was named team MVP ... Also nominated as the CIF Player of the Year ... As a junior, averaged 13.5 points per game while leading McClymonds to an 18-14 record ... Lists his favorite actor as Denzel Washington, and Halle Berry as his favorite actress ... Vinnie says that if a movie were made of him, Denzel Washington would be the lead actor ... When he is relaxing, Vinnie says he listens to music (his favorite solo artist is Jay-Z), watches ESPN, and finds time to watch his favorite movies (Paid in Full/Through The Fire) ... He also enjoys the music of State Property ... Vinnie says he would like to switch places for a day with Jay-Z ... His favorite food is pizza, and his least favorite food is meat loaf ... If he could have dinner with any two people, they would be singer Alicia Keys and the late singer Aaliyah ... If stranded on a desert island, it would be with his family and friends ... His greatest hero is Jesus Christ because of the sacrifice he made for his people ... The person in history he would most like to meet is the late Martin Luther King, Jr ... Vinnie says that the person who always makes him smile is his nephew ... Vinnie says that if he had a million dollars, he would buy a lot of things, but also give a lot of money to West Oakland ... McGhee says if he could change one thing about the world today, it would be to end poverty ... Vinnie says no one knows how much "I love my family" ... Few people know that Vinnie likes to go to the zoo ... The title of his autobiography would be "The Life of Vinnie McBlast" ... Vinnie says years from now, he'll still laugh about all the time he spent with his friends growing up ... He says his greatest moment in sports was when he won the game for his team and everybody rushed the court ... His most embarrassing moment was when he checked into a game, took off his warmup top, and didn't have his jersey on ... His best friend from another college team is his cousin, Frank Otis, who plays basketball at SMU ... The toughest player he has played against is Antonio Kellogg (former USF and UConn guard) ... Played for the Oakland Soldiers since the sixth grade, the same AAU team that produced current NBA All-Star LeBron James ... During the summer of 2007, Vinnie was selected to play in Europe with an all-star team consisting of northern California high school players ... Also played in the Sacramento vs Bay Area Showdown which featured the finest high school basketball players in northern California ... Communication major.
