Lior Schwartzberg joined the Cal State Northridge basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2009-10.

Besides his duties in basketball operations, his responsibilities include monitoring academics as the Director of Academic Affairs for Men's Basketball. Since taking over the academic program in the Summer of 2010, the Matadors' men's basketball team GPA has constantly been in the top of the department. Maintaining a 3.08 GPA since the beginning of this role, the Matadors also achieved a 3.10 GPA last semester - the highest ever earned by the team in the fall. 

Along with academic affairs, Schwartberg also assists with the budget, travel, coordinating visits, and film breakdown.

Schwartzberg hails from the University of California, Irvine, where he served as Video Coordinator for the Anteaters during the 2008-09 season. His responsibilities also included coordinating of the film exchange program, preparing film presentations, and monitoring and performing daily logistical operations.

Following his tenure at UCI, Schwartzberg also served several months as the Director of Basketball Operations for Double Pump Basketball. His responsibilities were extensive including arranging team travel for players, managing team uniform and equipment orders, conducting daily basketball operation tasks, and recruiting potential players. Schwartzberg has also worked at numerous camps including those at Stanford, UCLA, UCLA Elite Camp, UC Irvine, Santa Clara, UC Santa Barbara, the Ben Howland Basketball Camp, the West Coast All-Star Camp, and the Tom Asbury Camps at Pepperdine.

Schwartzberg also has extensive coaching experience. His coaching responsibilities have included being a five-year varsity assistant; three years at The Brentwood School in Los Angeles and two years at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo. He also served as head frosh coach at The Brentwood School, and head sophomore coach at Capistrano Valley High School. During his tenure at both schools, Schwartzberg helped both schools reach the CIF playoffs all five years.

Schwartzberg has also founded the Latino Association for Basketball Coaches and has worked closely with the NABC in establishing an annual Latino Coaches Meeting at the 2011 NCAA Final Four in Houston, TX. Schwartzberg, who graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a degree in Philosophy, served as a scout team player for the UCLA women's basketball program from 2005-08. He earned his Master's degree in Athletic Adminstration from Concordia University (Irvine) in 2012.
