What is so special about Canada, and who is so special about the United States?
"Canada is beautiful. Canada has free health care. It's a big country but not that many people live there. I like all walks of life here in the United States. There is a different vibe wherever you go. The East Coast, the Virginia area, up and down the coast, the Midwest, the West. It's been interesting to experience it during my travels the last five years in the United States."
What do you miss about your hometown of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada?
"I miss my family. I miss my mom and dad, and especially my brother. I text my parents all the time. I don't text my brother too much because he works the night shift. But they will all be down here for Senior Night (the last home game of the basketball season)."
Where is Nanaimo, Canada, and what do people do for a living and for fun?
"Nanaimo is on Vancouver Island. It's on the Southern end. It's an hour north of Victoria. That's where Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns All-Star is from Canada) hails from. People in Nanaimo work in the lumber industry. A lot of people my age work in the oil fields in Alberta."
You're from Canada. Which NHL team is your favorite?
"The Vancouver Canucks. They are located near my hometown. I just remember watching them as a kid. I still keep tab on what kind of season they are having from my friends back home."
Your favorite NBA team?
"The Phoenix Suns. Steve Nash plays for them. He's the two-time NBA MVP from Canada. He plays the game the right way. He gets his team involved in the game and that's the way it should be played."
After you graduate from Cal State Northridge, what are you plans?
"I want to do it all ... play basketball overseas, make some money, settle down and have a family. Live the good life."
You like music. What is your favorite rock group?
"I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They have been around for so long. They have had hit-after-hit-after-hit."
You're a good cook. What is your favorite kind of dish?
"Tonight I'm making my girlfriend bow tie pasta with a pesto sauce. The sauce will consist of pesto, olive oil, minced garlic, sun dried tomatoes along with some other Italian seasonings ... Mix it all up with Italian sausage."
How did you get from Canada to Southern California?
"I played against a guy named Ryan Wright. Ryan's coach mentioned me to Paul Westphal, who was then head coach at Pepperdine. I went on my recruiting trip and fell in love with Pepperdine and the Southern California area." - Editors note: Galick later transferred from Pepperdine to Cal State Northridge.
Who is going to win the Super Bowl?
"The New Orleans Saints. They are riding high. You can't stop a team that is riding high."
