Cal State Northridge Hosts Drake University In ESPN Bracketbuster Game

Northridge, Calif. - ESPN has announced its eighth-annual BracketBusters bracket - a two-day men's college basketball event pitting NCAA Tournament hopefuls Friday (Feb. 19) and Saturday (Feb. 20).
Thirty-eight teams including all nine teams from the Big West Conference will play in this prestigious event.
Cal State Northridge will host Drake University on Feb. 20 at The Matadome. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
Drake University will provide a formidable opponent for Cal State Northridge. The Bulldogs, who play in the Missouri Valley Conference, have won six of their last seven games to raise its season record to 11-12. The Bulldogs are 6-5 in conference play. Their recent success included wins over rivals Creighton and Southern Illinois.
Drake University will play five more games before arriving for its ESPN BracketBuster game against Cal State Northridge on Feb. 20.
Drake University has enjoyed post-season play the past two seasons. Two years ago (2007-08), the Bulldogs enjoyed a super season with a 28-5 record, a 15-3 ledger in the Missouri Valley Conference and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Last year (2008-09), Drake University competed in the inaugural CollegeInside.com Tournament and ended the season with a 17-16 mark.
Mark Phelps is in his second season as head coach at Drake University, which is located in Des Moines, Ia.
Two seasons ago, Cal State Northridge played in the Drake Invitational in Iowa but did not play the Bulldogs.
