Nick Delio Wins First Professional Tournament, Qualifies for Golfweek National Pro Tour

Former Cal State Northridge All-American Nick Delio won the Golfweek National Pro Tour Ranking School event (Jan. 10-12) at the Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, Texas to earn a spot in the developmental national professional tour.

Delio carded a three-round eight under-par 208 (67-73-68) to win the Ranking School event by one shot over Tyler Weworski. By winning the event, Delio qualifies for the Gold portion of the Golfweek National Pro Tour which begins March 6 at Sandpiper G.C. in Santa Barbara.

More importantly, by winning the first of four Ranking School events, Delio will have his entry fees for all 15 tournaments on the Gold Tour paid for.

The National Pro Tour is one of a group of "mini" tours, which trail behind the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour in competition, media exposure, popularity and money.

Fellow Matador Erik Jarvey also qualified for the Gold Tour after finishing tied for 20th at two over-par 218 following rounds of 72-74-72. The top-25 finishers at each Ranking School event earn a spot on the Gold Tour while the next 25 earn a spot on the Silver Tour.
