Matadors Well Back After 36 Holes at ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Cal State Northridge men's golf team carded team rounds of 296-307 and is tied for 15th-place after two rounds at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational Friday at ASU's Karsten Golf Course.

The Matadors (603) sit well back in the pack as all teams are chasing San Diego State (557) which carries a four-shot lead over California (561) into Saturday's final round.

Chris Russo leads Northridge though 36 holes as the junior is currently tied for 14th-place at one under-par 141 following an opening-round 67 and a second round 74. The next Matador player is 50 slots down the leaderboard as senior Jason Rosenkranz is tied for 64th at (+10) 152 following rounds of 77-75. Shane Blanchard is tied for 69th at (+11) 153 after posting scores of 74-79, Ryan Green is tied for 90th at (+17) 159 following rounds of 78-81 and Steven Molumby is tied for 93rd at (+20) 162 after carding rounds of 83-79.  

The 17 schools play a final round on Sunday with tee times starting at 7 a.m.
