BANDON, Ore. - Cal State Northridge opened with a round of 303 and is 11th out of 18 teams after day one of the Bandon Dunes Championship at the Old Macdonald Course at the Bandon Dunes Resort.
With the first round 303, the Matadors trail Fresno State and Washington State by just two shots for a spot in the top-10. Oregon leads the team chase at 290 followed by Missouri-Kansas City (291) and Colorado (291). 18 teams are competing in the three-day tournament.
Ryan Green and Oscar Sachs lead CSUN through round one as each carded a two-over par 74 and are tied for 23rd-place. Matt Siporin is tied for 54th at five-over 77, Kyler Sauer is tied for 66th at six-over 78 and Steven Molumby is tied for 85th at nine-over 81.
Troix Tonkham of Fresno State and Harry Higgs of SMU hold the individual round one lead as each fired a two-under 70.
The second round is scheduled for Saturday morning with the final round set for Sunday morning.
