CSUN Firmly in the Race at Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate

LOS CABOS, Mexico - Cal State Northridge men's golf is in fifth place through 36 holes at the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate as senior Ryan Green is in 18th-place to lead the Matadors.

The Matadors followed up Sunday's opening round 309 with a solid 288 on Monday and are in fifth-place at 597 heading into the final round on Tuesday. San Francisco (579) leads the team chase as the Dons hold a 13 stroke lead over second place UC Irvine (592) with CSUN just five shots behind the Anteaters.

The Matadors received some solid scoring from a host of newcomers over the first two days of the tournament.

Michael O'Connor and Aiden Louez are both playing in their first tournaments for CSUN as O'Connor carded the Matadors' low round of the tournament thus far with a second-round 70.

Green is CSUN's low scorer through 36 holes as the senior posted rounds of 76-73 to sit 18th at 149. Kyler Sauer, Dodge Ward and O'Connor, all at 150, are one shot behind Green. Sauer posted rounds of 76-74, Ward 79-71 and O'Connor 80-70.

Oscar Sachs, playing as an individual, is at 152 following rounds of 75-77 while Louez is at 156 following rounds of 78-78.
