Nick Delio in Second, Matadors 11th After Two Rounds at Braveheart Classic

BEAUMONT, Calif. - Sophomore Nick Delio is tied for second at even-par 144 while the Cal State Northridge golf team carded rounds of 303 and 305 and is in 11th place after two rounds of the Braveheart Classic at Oak Valley G.C.

Delio trails Southern Utah's Tai Reynolds (143) by one shot heading into Tuesday's final round. The sophomore from Valencia finished Monday's two rounds at even-par 144 after posting rounds of 73-71. Delio is currently tied with three other golfers at 144.

No other Matador golfer is in the top 45, which contributed to Monday's 11th-place showing. Senior Erik Jarvey is tied for 46th at (+8) 152 after rounds of 77-75, junior Jeff Freund is tied for 50th at (+9) 153 after rounds of 74-79 and Clint Oleson and Casey Piper are both tied for 84th at (+16) 160. Oleson finished with rounds of 79-81 and Piper posted back-to-back rounds of 80. Jason Rosenkranz competed as an individual and is tied for 76th at (+15) 159 after rounds of 79-80.

Oregon leads the team chase after two rounds as the Ducks (579) hold a ten shot lead over Loyola Marymount (589). The Matadors (608) are 29 shots off the pace.

The final round, on the 7,003-yard, par-72 course at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, takes place on Tuesday.
