Northridge Sits 13th After Two Rounds at Fresno Lexus Classic

FRESNO, Calif. - Cal State Northridge was in contention after an opening-round 297 but slipped to a second round 305 and is in 13th place after two rounds of the Fresno Lexus Classic at Belmont C.C. Individually Clint Oleson and Nick Delio are both in the top-20.

The Matadors posted team rounds of 297-305 for a two-round total of 602. Northridge is just three strokes out of the top 10 heading into Tuesday's final round. UC Davis (584) and Washington (584) are tied atop the team leaderboard after two rounds. The Huskies posted a team-low round of 285 in the second round on Monday. BYU and host Fresno State are tied for third at 590. San Diego State (592) rounds out the top five of the 20-team field.

Oleson, a senior from Prescott, Ariz., leads the Matadors as he is tied for 13th at two over-par 146. Oleson posted rounds of two over 74 and even-par 72 on Monday. He trails leader Phil Huffman of UC Davis (139) by seven strokes heading into the final round. Delio is tied for 17th after a solid first round (-2) 70 but struggled to a second round (+5) 77. He is currently tied with a pair of golfers at three over-par 147. Senior Erik Jarvey is tied for 36th at six over-par 150 after rounds of 74-76, Jeff Freund is tied for 88th at (+16) 160 after rounds of 79-81 and junior Casey Piper is in 97th place at (+19) 163 after rounds of 83-80.

Tuesday's final round is scheduled begin at 9:30 a.m.
