Northridge Sits Eighth After Two Rounds at the Del Walker Intercollegiate

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Senior Erik Jarvey carded rounds of 69 and 72 and is tied for 15th place and the Cal State Northridge men's golf team is in eighth place at 572 (+4) after two rounds of the Del Walker Intercollegiate Thursday at Virginia C.C.

As a team, the Matadors are just two shots behind seventh-place Loyola Marymount (570) and 10 shots out of the top five. Team-leading Colorado State's two-round team score of 535 set a new Del Walker tournament and the Rams hold a commanding 21-stroke lead over UC Irvine (556) and Texas-San Antonio (556).

Individually, Jarvey leads the Matador charge as the senior from Palmdale, Calif. is tied for 15th-place at 141 (-1) after an opening-round 69 (-2) and a second round 72 (+1). Junior Casey Piper is tied for 29th at 143 (+1) after rounds of 72-71, sophomore Nick Delio and senior Clint Oleson are tied for 35th at 144 (+2) after each finished with identical rounds of 73-71. Junior Satch Hermann, making his Northridge debut, is currently tied for 61st at 152 (+10) after rounds of 77-75 and senior Greg Gauvin is tied for 72nd at 160 (+18) after rounds of 83-77.

Colorado State's Zahkai Brown is the leader after two rounds after firing a two-round 129 (-13). Brown holds a three-shot lead over John Chin of UC Irvine who is at 132 (-10) after rounds of 67-65.

Friday's final round of 18 holes is scheduled for 7 a.m. at Virginia C.C.
