Northridge Tied for Sixth After One Round of Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. - Junior Casey Piper and senior Erik Jarvey are both tied for sixth place while the Cal State Northridge men's golf team is also tied for sixth after the first of three rounds of the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational.

As a team, the Matadors fired an opening-round 287 (+3) and trial team-leading Fresno State (279) by eight strokes. Northridge is just four shots back of second place Rice University (283).

Piper and Jarvey each fired an opening-round 70 (-1) and are four shots off the pace set by Fresno State's Grant Doverspike who carded a first round 66 (-5).

Senior Clint Oleson is currently tied for 26th at 73 (+2), sophomore Nick Delio is tied for 40th at 74 (+3) and junior Jeff Freund is tied for 54th at 76 (+5).

The second round is scheduled for Tuesday with the final round on Wednesday.
