Cal State Northridge junior Nick Delio was named PING Division I honorable mention All-America becoming the first Matador golfer in Northridge's Division I era to garner All-America accolades.
Delio, who capped his junior season with his first appearance in the NCAA Championship, finished the season with a team-best 71.7 stroke average. He competed in 13 tournaments, playing 39 rounds and posted one win, five top-10 finishes and five top-20 finishes.
He won the NCAA Southwest Region Championship which earned him a spot as an individual in the NCAA Championship where he placed 103rd.
Delio is the first Northridge golfer in the school's Division I era (since 1991) to earn All-America honors. He joins a list of 43 Matador men's golf All-Americans and is the first since Bob Burns in 1990.
"I think it's a well-deserved honor for Nick," said head coach Jim Bracken. "His consistency is what a lot of people look at for All-American honors and I think Nick only had about two rough tournaments all season. Outside of that he was in the top-10 or top-20 a majority of the time which is pretty impressive."
