Lev-Ari Lands on Soccer America MVPs Second Team

After a season in which he scored 16 goals and added six assists to lead the Cal State Northridge attack, junior forward Sagi Lev-Ari was named to the MVPs Second Team by Soccer America, the organization announced Wednesday. The honor comes in addition to Lev-Ari's status as an NSCAA/Continental Tire First Team All-American, all-region selection and semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

Lev-Ari becomes the second consecutive Matador named to an MVP team by Soccer America, as former defender Joe Franco was named to the Second Team at the end of the 2012 season.

The Haifa, Israel, native led the country in goals and points (38) entering the NCAA Tournament in November and is already drawing attention as a top player to watch in 2014 by TopDrawerSoccer.com. He has already collected 31 goals in just two seasons at CSUN and is nine away from becoming just the fourth player in school history to reach 40 goals.

Lev-Ari, along with the other players to earn All-America honors this season, will be recognized at the 2014 NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia, Pa., at the annual NSCAA All-America Luncheon this Saturday, Jan. 18, at 12 p.m. ET.
