The Cal State Northridge men's soccer team will hold its annual tryout session on campus on Friday, Feb. 28, the coaching staff announced today. Tryouts will be held at the soccer practice field, located just south of the track complex and just north of the baseball facility.
Tryouts will begin promptly at 2:15 p.m. without exception, and all those wishing to try out for the team must attend a mandatory meeting on Monday, Feb. 24. The meeting will take place in Redwood Hall room 157 at 2:15 p.m.
In order to be eligible for tryouts, each participant must be a full-time student at Cal State Northridge enrolled in a minimum of 12 units. In addition, prospective student-athletes must receive a physical examination and receive a doctor's signature and stamp clearing them for activity.
Participants must also have a sickle cell blood test performed and turn in documented results before being allowed to try out. It is recommended that those wishing to participate scheduled their sickle cell test and physical immediately with their doctor because it can take up to a week to get results.
Finally, all medical information and other required paperwork must be completed and turned in before the meeting on February 24. Failure to do so will result in the athlete being removed from consideration.
