Chris Smith played in all 19 matches for Northridge this season and finished second on the team in scoring. He scored two goals, including the first of the season for the Matadors against Canisius (8/26), and added seven assists for 11 points. Smith took 21 shots and had 10 on goal. Smith finished sixth in the Big West in assists and assists per game (0.37).
Smith returned to action for Cal State Northridge in 2010 and competed in eight of the Matadors' 19 matches. He took one shot this year, which was on goal, and finished the season with one assist and one point.
Smith redshirted the 2009 season.
QUARTZ HILL HIGH SCHOOL
Smith earned First Team All-City recognition in 2008, was a member of the Rebels' soccer team during his time at Quartz Hill High School, and graduated with a 3.4 GPA. As a freshman, Smith was the only player to earn a spot of the varsity roster, and followed his inaugural season on the team by becoming the team's leading scorer while earning Second Team All-League honors. During his junior season, he led the team in both scoring and assists as the Rebels finished the season as a CIF quarterfinalist and Golden League Champions.
