Former Matador Men's Soccer Standout Signs with the Carolina RailHawks

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -

Former Big West Conference Midfielder of the Year Daniel Paladini has agreed to terms with the Carolina RailHawks of the United Soccer League’s First Division, and will join the squad for the 2009 season. 

Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2006, the midfielder made his Major League Soccer debut in 2008 with Chivas USA, finished the season having started in five of the eight games he appeared in, scoring one goal in the process.

In 2007, Paladini was a member of the San Fernando Valley Quakes, one of the standout teams in the USL Premier Development League, netting three goals in 14 games for the Quakes. 

An All-Big West First Team selection in 2004 and 2005, he ended his collegiate career at Cal State Northridge in 2005 with seven goals and three assists before receiving first team and midfielder of the year honors. 

During his four years with the Matadors (2002-05), Paladini finished with 17 goals and 19 assists for a cumulative total of 53 points.
