NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
The Cal State Northridge Men's Soccer program announced today that its annual Summer Identification camp is full, according to assistant coach Yossi Raz.
The camp, which is set for June 18 and 19 at Matador Soccer Field, has reached a maximum capacity of 35 field players and five goalkeepers, but those interested are encouraged to join a waiting list by contacting the coaching staff at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Below is the original press release, published on May 12, 2011, detailing the camp.
Original Release (5/12/11):
The Cal State Northridge Men's Soccer program will once again host its annual boy's identification camp at Matador Soccer Field, the coaching staff announced today.
The camp will take place on June 18th and 19th and is open to players ages 15 to 19. All campers are required to bring their own cleats, shin guards, dark socks and shorts, and a white shirt. Soccer balls will be provided.
The yearly ID camp has proven to be an elite-level camp that provides high school players with a unique opportunity to train with and get a feel for an NCAA Division-I program. The two-day camp is strictly limited to 35 field players and five goalkeepers to keep numbers small and increase the level of personal instruction.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
Lunch will be provided on the first day of the camp and snacks will be provided on day two. The cost per camper is $175, and there will be no housing arrangements made.
Participants will have the opportunity to be instructed by Matador head coach Terry Davila, a winner of two Big West Conference titles and a four-time recipient of the conference's Coach of the Year award. Assistant coach Peter Bomar, a former player and captain at CSUN, will coach goalkeepers and assistant coach Yossi Raz will help with field players. Raz is a former Israeli National Team member and was a four-time Big West Conference First Team selection with Northridge.
Please see the included documents (linked above) for a full itinerary of the camp and the required registration documents. All participants in the Northridge ID Camp are required to fill out the registration form, with all necessary signatures, as well as the athletic waiver. Please mail in both with the registration fee to the address listed on the registration form to reserve your spot in the camp.
Once your application and fee are processed, you will receive an email confirming your place in the ID camp.
Players will not be allowed to train in the camp unless the forms are filled out and on file before the camp begins.
