Sunghyun Kim Earns NSCAA Honors

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - After being named to the All-Big West First Team last month, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named Matador midfielder Sunghyun Kim to their Far West-All Region Second Team for his performance on the pitch throughout the 2008 season.
Kim had the most productive season of his three-year career at Northridge as he scored five goals, led the team with seven assists, and tied for the highest overall point total on the team with 17.
His 48 total shots and 19 shots-on-goal were the second highest in each respective category, establishing Kim as one of the most formidable players on both sides of the in the Big West Conference.
This is the first time in Kim's collegiate career that he has received such accolades from the NSCAA, the latest Matador to be honored since current Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Sean Franklin was named to the Second Team in 2007.
