CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE - 2012
Derrick Harris finished a Matador-best fifth in the decathlon at the Big West Championships (May 4-5) ... scored 6,441 points which included season-bests in three events (100 meters, 110 hurdles, long jump) ... scored a Cal State Northridge season-best 6,465 points at the season-opening Northridge Invitational (Mar 15-16) which was good for fourth place ... posted season-bests of 15-7 (4.75) in the pole vault and 6-2.75 (1.90) in the high jump at the Hawaii Rainbow Relays (Mar. 23-24) ... also tied for seventh in the pole vault at the conference championship meet with a top clearance of 15-5 (4.70) ... placed 13th in the heptathlon at the MPSF Indoor Championships with a season-best total of 4,945 points ... also posted indoor season-bests of 6.95 in the 60 meters, 9.23 in the 60 hurdles, 6-2 (1.88) in the high jump and 15-1 (4.60) in the pole vault.

Harris spent one season (2010-11) as a decathlete at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. ... the Mounties were South Coast Conference champions as well as southern California champions for coach Ron Kamaka ... earned his associate of arts degree in Kinesiology.
