NEW YORK, NY - In a light week of action for the Cal State Northridge track & field squads, a pair of Matadors set indoor lifetime-bests at the New Balance Collegiate Invitatioal at Armory Track in New York.
Three Northridge women competed and junior Sherrina Lofton competed in both the 60 and 200 meters. Lofton ran 7.55 to finish fourth in her heat of the 60 meter prelims and did not qualify for the final. She also ran a lifetime-best 24.60 in the 200 meters but did not reach the event final. Shelese Ruffin ran a lifetime-best 55.34 in the 400 meters but did not qualify for the final. Ruffin shattered her previous indoor best which was 24.62. Desirae Gonder competed in the high jump and posted a season-best height of 5-10 (1.78) to finish tied for second.
On the men's side, senior Rolando Felizola jumped a lifetime-best 50-4 (15.34) in the triple jump to finish seventh in his section. Felizola's previous best was 50-0 (15.24).
