Former Matador Justin Johnson Finishes Second in Heptathlon at USA Indoor

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Former Matador decathlete Justin Johnson finished his first post-Northridge indoor championship with a second place finish in the heptathlon at the USA Indoor Combined Events Championships.

The event took place March 7-8 at Eddie Smith Field House, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Johnson finished second to Jake Arnold after posting a point total of 5,514. Johnson ran 7.27 in the 60 meters, jumped 23-6.25 (7.17) in the long jump, threw 39-4 (11.99) in the shot put and high jumped 6-8 (2.03) on day one. On the second and final day of competition, Johnson ran 8.22 in the 60 meter hurdles, pole vaulted 14-7.25 (4.45) and ran 2:50.46 in the 1000 meters.
