Theo Edwards Travels to Ft. Lauderdale for USA Volleyball High Performance Championships

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - CSUN men's volleyball assistant coach Theo Edwards will add to to his coaching resume this week as he will assist with the USA High Performance Training Team at the 2013 HP Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

The High Performance Championships, held July 23-27, is one of USA Volleyball's flagship events. The 90+ team event features tournaments for both boys and girls that include teams from USA Volleyball Region HP teams, International teams and teams from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline. Past International teams have included: Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and Puerto Rico.

"This will be another great experience to work with USA Volleyball," said Edwards who will be assisting with High Performance for the second time after completing his third season with the Matadors in 2013. "After four days of training we will split the age group (about 50 players) into four teams that will compete against international competition."

Edwards, who will work with the Boy's Select A1 Team, is one of nine assistant coaches on head coach Ken Shibuya's staff.
