PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team lost to Prairie View A&M, 78-58, Sunday afternoon at the William Nicks Building. Sophomore Analee Viena-Lota scored a team-high 16 points, including a career-high two 3-pointers, and led the team with seven rebounds in the defeat.
Viena-Lota is now shooting 42.3 percent from the field for the season and is averaging a team-high 12.0 points per game. She is also leading the team with 6.5 rebounds per game. Against the Lady Panthers, she also registered an assist and a steal in 30 minutes of action.
Junior Kayla Rutherford was the other Matador to hit double figures, coming off the bench to score 10 points in 14 minutes of action. She was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line and added two steals in the contest.
As a team, Northridge shot 37.1 percent from the field, finishing the game 23-of-62 from the field. PVAMU out-rebounded CSUN, 45-29, in the game and finished with six blocked shots.
