Matadors Finish Fourth at Season-Opening Mountain Shootout in Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Senior Krystina Gillenwater carded a final round 75 to vault from 17th-place into a tie for eighth place and Cal State Northridge finished fourth with a two-round 643 at the Mountain Shootout at Continental Country Club.
Gillenwater posted rounds of 81-75 to finish in a tie for eighth place at +10, 156. Sophomore Ashlee Nagamine, who was tied for 12th after a first round 79 on Monday, remained 12th after a final round 78. She completed the tournament at +11, 157.
Senior Katrina Sutton posted the best turnaround of the day as she notched a 10-shot improvement over Monday's opening round. Sutton shot 87 on Monday and fired a 77 on Tuesday to finish tied for 21st at +18, 164. Freshman Lady Samson completed her first collegiate tournament in a tie for 26th place after posting a final score of +22, 168 after rounds of 82-86 and Monique Huijsman finished tied for 35th after rounds of 85-87 left her at +26, 172.
Florida Southern won the team title with a tournament-tying mark of 291 that gave the Moccasins a three-over par 587 two-round total. FSC's Heather Burgner won the individual title from five strokes back to win by four after carding a tournament-record six-under par 67. She defeated teammate Silvie Dittertovam who tied with Arizona's Isabelle Boineau, by four strokes.
