Matador Softball to Host Winter Showcase Camp on December 10

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- The Cal State Northridge women's softball program will host a Winter Showcase Camp on December 10, 2011 at Matador Diamond. The event is limited to 40 participants and is open to any and all interested girls in grades 8-12. 

The day will run from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Matador Diamond on the campus of Cal State Northridge. The camp is geared toward the serious softball player looking to play at the collegiate level. Throughout the day, participants will engage in position-specific drills, offensive exercises and game situations. 

The fee for the camp is $180, but if a team brings at least six players to the event, the price drops to $135 per participant. 

The showcase will be run by the CSUN softball staff, which boasts a lengthy resume of playing and coaching accomplishments. Matador head coach Tairia Flowers just finished her first tour of duty with Team USA, helping lead the team to a World Cup of Softball title and a gold medal at the 2011 Pan Am Games. 

Assistant coaches Caitlin Benyi, Tia Mexa and Natasha Watley are all former All-Americans from their playing days and all were at one time members of Team USA.
