Box Score

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Tori Rogers tossed a complete game, one-hitter to lead Portland State to a 7-1 victory over the Cal State Northridge softball team (1-6) in the opening game of the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Classic at UCLA. Tracy Allen had Northridge's only hit in the game, an RBI double.

Rogers dealt a tough game for the Vikings, fanning five Matadors and allowing just the one hit. She also walked three and hit two batters in earning the victory.

Portland State jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on CSUN starter Debbie Duran, scoring a two-out run in the bottom of the second. Allen would then tie the game up in the top of the fourth, blasting a liner that glanced off the PSU third baseman's glove and allowed Alexandria Alvarado to score from second.

However, Portland State would add another run in the bottom of the fifth and then blow the game open in the sixth, scoring five runs on six hits.

Duran went 5.0 innings, allowing seven hits and five earned runs. She struck out three, walked three and hit a batter to move to 0-3 with a 7.76 ERA in 15.1 innings of work in 2010.

Amanda Pitzenberger tossed the final 1.0 innings for CSUN, giving up two hits with one earned run. She did strike out one Viking. The victory was Portland State's first in the all-time series between the two schools.

For Allen, the RBI was her third of the season. Lauren Olivas added a stolen base for CSUN, her second of the year.

CSUN plays once more Friday, taking on the No. 4 UCLA Bruins. First pitch is slated for approximately 4 p.m.
