Complete COSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Softball Academic All-District Teams in PDF Format

Cal State Northridge softball senior Sarah Kahn-Shamout was named to the COSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Softball Academic All-District Eight Second Team. A biology major, Kahn-Shamout has maintained a 3.78 cumulative GPA in her academic career at Cal State Northridge.

"It is tremendously rewarding to receive this recognition," Kahn-Shamout said. "I want to thank my husband, my family, my teammates and my professors for their help over these past four years."

A four-year member of the Matador Softball team, Kahn-Shamout hopes to pursue a career in nursing after her graduation this May. She served as a team captain during the 2009 season in which she has scored five runs and has two doubles and three RBIs.

Kahn-Shamout will conclude her Big West softball career against UC Davis on May 8 and 9 in a three-game series against the Aggies. She and the Matadors will play a doubleheader on May 8 and a single game on May 9 with both days starting at noon.
