Matador Tennis Scores 4-1 Victory over New Mexico State

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. ---

The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team (3-2) defeated New Mexico State 4-1 Sunday morning at the Matador Tennis Complex. CSUN swept the doubles point and took three singles matches to seal the victory over the Aggies.

In doubles, seniors Sabrina Man-Son-Hing and Anna Yang improved to a perfect 5-0 on the young season with an 8-2 victory in the top draw. Both have earned All-Big West Doubles First Team honors in their careers.

In the second doubles contest, senior Maria Pistalu and junior Lorraine Cheung recorded an 8-2 victory and at No. 3, Corinne Schnyder and Jessica Warren captured an 8-1 victory.

Moving to singles, Pistalu rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the top draw to snap a two-match losing streak. Warren was also victorious, picking up a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the sixth draw. An injury in the second draw also gave CSUN a point to secure the needed four to win the match.
