Yvonne Castillo-Urbina qualified for the 10,000 meters at the Big West Championships (May 12) ... finished 18th in a time of 38:51.07 ... clocked a season-best 38:27.27 at the Cal-Nevada Championships (Apr. 1) ... also ran the 1,500 meters posting a season-best of 5:05.41 at the season-opening Northridge Invitational (Mar. 17) ... season-bests of the indoor season were 5:33.99 in the mile and 11:02.34 in the 3,000 meters ar the Boise State Team Challenge (Feb. 11).

2010-11
Castillo-Urbina reached the Big West Championships in the 10,000 meters where she finished 19th in a time of 39:27.20 ... season-best was 38:00.12 at the Cal-Nevada Championships (Mar. 27) ... also had season-bests of 11:01.31 in the 3,000 meters and 18:37.95 during the outdoor campaign ... did not compete during the indoor season.

2009-10
Redshirted the 2010 indoor and outdoor seasons for the Matadors.

TAFT HIGH SCHOOL
Competed in both track and cross country at Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif. ... earned Most Outstanding Runner as a senior in 2009 ... earned Coaches Award in 2007 and 2008 and was named Most Improved as a freshman in 2005 ... the Torreadors cross country team won West Valley League titles in 2006 and 2008 ... ran the 3,200 meter event for the track team ... graduated in 2009 with a 3.0 grade point average.
