Matadors Add Bree Ray to Track & Field Coaching Staff

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge head track & field coach Avery Anderson has announced the addition of Bree Ray as an assistant coach on the Matador coaching staff.

"Coach Ray adds tremendous value and experience to our program," said Anderson. "I'm excited about the contribution she will make toward our goals of advancing our distance program."

Ray brings several years of coaching experience to both the Cal State Northridge cross country and track and field programs. She will work primarily with the Matador cross country runners in the fall and the long distance runners during the track & field season. Ray has spent time as an assistant coach at Southern Oregon University, the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and North Medford High School.

A graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., Ray currently trains for the half marathon. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, she prepped at Grace Christian School where she competed in cross country, track & field and volleyball, earning MVP honors as well as the coaches award in cross country.
