Hafsatu Kamara advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Round (May 23-25) for the first time ... qualified in the 100 and 200 as well as the 4x100 relay ... Finished 31st (11.69) in the 100 meter prelims and 41st (24.59) in the 200 meter prelims but did not advance to the final ... the 4x100 relay finshed 17th, just out of the top-12 which advanced to the next round ... finished fourth in the 100 meters at the Big West Championships (May 10-11) after clocking a season-best 11.61 in the final ... her time ranks ninth in school history ... clocked a personal-best and CSUN season-best 23.83 (seventh in CSUN history) in the 200 meter prelims before finishing fourth in the final at 23.84 ... ran the second leg of the conference champion 4x100 relay that clocked a season-best and second-best time in CSUN history of 44.43 in the final. INDOOR SEASON: qualified for the 60 meter final at the MPSF Championships (Feb. 22-23) where she ran 7.79 to finish eighth after clocking a season-best 7.55 in the prelims which is the fourth-best time in Matador indoor history ... placed 30th in the 200 meters in a personal-best 25.42.

Kamara spent two seasons (2010-12) at Coppin State in Baltimore, Md. ... ran the 13 fastest 100 meter times for the Eagles in 2012, including a season-best 11.79 at the MEAC Championships ... also tran the 200 meters where her season-best was 24.85 ... had the teams second fastest indoor time in the 60 meters (7.71) ... earned MIP honors for the Eagles during the 2012 indoor season.

Lettered in both track and basketball at Nottingham High School in Hamilton, NJ ... earned first team All-Mercer County accolades as a senior sprinter for the Northstars in 2010 ... posted top times of 12.0 in the 100 meters and 25.3 in the 200 ... was a National Honor Society recipient as well as a member of the National Latin Society ... graduated in 2010 with a 3.7 grade point average.
