NORTHRIDGE - 2011
Sherrina Lofton earned second team All-America honors in the
heptathlon from the USTFCCCA ... earned a berth in the heptathlon
at the NCAA Championships for the second time ... finished
16th with a total of 5,209 points ... earned the title of the best
all-around athlete in the Big West Conference after scoring 5,371
points to help the Matador women to their sixth consecutive team
championship ... also was crowned fastest woman in the conference
after winning the 100 meters in a season-best time of 11.65 ...
placed second in the 200 meters also running a season-best of 24.11
... was a member of the conference champion 4x400 relay teams ...
also ran on the 4x100 relay that finished second ... finished
second in the long jump after jumping a career-best 19-7.50 (5.98)
... clocked a lifetime-best 14.06 in the 100 meter hurdles in the
Big West Multi-Events ... also earned second team All-America
honors from the USTFCCCA in the pentathlon during the indoor season
... scored a personal-best 4,092 points to win the
MPSF Indoor Championship and earn a berth in the

2010
Lofton redshirted both the indoor and outdoor seasons for the
Matadors.
2009
Earned her first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships as
she finished 22nd in the heptathlon (4,531 points) and also
qualified for the 100 meters and 4x100 relay ... ran 11.55 in the
100 meter prelims but did not reach the event final ... was part of
the 4x100 relay team which ran a Northridge season-best 44.59 that
ranks third in Matadors history ... ran a lifetime-best 11.45 in
the 100 meter prelims at the NCAA West Regional in Eugene,
Ore. which ranks third in Northridge history ... advanced to the
final where she finished fifth in 11.52 ... also ran on the 4x100
relay that finished fourth (44.88) and the 4x400 relay that
took fifth (3:38.83) ... won three Big West titles (100, 200,
heptathlon) in helping the Matador women to their fourth
straight conference championship ... ran a season-best 23.90 to win
the 200 meters and scored 5,224 points to win the heptathlon ...
scored a career-best 5,420 points in the heptathlon at the Spring
Break Open in Northridge (Mar. 19) which ranks second all-time at
CSUN ... finished fourth in the 60 meters (7.53) at the
MPSF Indoor Championships ... ran an indoor personal-best 7.49 at
the UW Indoor Invitational (Jan. 31) to set a
Northridge indoor record ... her career-best 24.60 in the 200
meters, set at the New Balance Invitational (Feb. 7) ranks ninth
... was an MPSF All-Academic selection following the indoor
season.
2008
Lofton, the 2008 Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Year,
claimed the Big West title in the 100 (11.60) and 200 (23.50) as
well as running the second leg on the Matadors' conference champion
4x100 relay and the anchor leg of 4x400 relay that also won the Big
West title at the outdoor championships ... advanced to the NCAA
West Regionals in both the 100 and 200 where she placed eighth in
the 100 (11.62) and sixth in the 200 (24.03) ... was part of the
Matadors' 4x100 relay that claimed fifth place ... earned USTFCCCA
All-West Region honors in both the 100 and 200 meters ... ran a
lifetime-best 11.58 in the 100 meter prelims at the Big West
Championships which is the seventh fastest time in Matador history
... her 200 meter time of 23.50 ranks fourth at Northridge ... also
finished eighth in the Big West heptathlon after scoring 4,325
points ... was named to the Big West All-Academic team ... finished
fifth in the 100 meters at the MPSF Indoor Championships in a
personal-best 7.58 which ranks second in Northridge indoor history
... was also 10th in the 200 meters (24.86).
2007
Qualified for both the 100 and 200 meters at the Big West Outdoor
Championships ... finished eighth in the 100 final after clocking a
time of 12.10 ... ran a season-best 11.98 in the 100 prelims as
well as at the Mt. SAC Relays ... finished fifth in her 200 prelim
and did not reach the finals ... ran a season-best 24.94 at the Mt.
SAC Relays ... placed fifth in the 60 meters at the WAC Indoor
Championships with a time of 7.77 ... ran an indoor season-best
7.68 in the prelims ... also qualified for the 200 meters where she
finished 11th in the prelims in a season-best 24.96.
FAIRFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
Earned two varsity letters as a sprinter at Fairfield High School
in Fairfield, Calif. ... earned All-SCAC honors all four years
(2003-06) and also claimed Athlete of the Week honors in 2004 and
2005 ... the Falcons' track team won league championships all four
years and won sub-section championships in 2005 and 2006 ...
graduated in 2006 with a 3.4 grade point average.
