Reindell Cole Wins Long Jump at Prestigious Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - Junior Reindell Cole claimed the men's long jump with a season-best of 25-5.25 (7.75) to highlight Cal State Northridge's performance at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas.

Cole defeated second place Bryce Lamb of Texas Tech in jumps. The junior from Las Vegas, Nev., reached 7.75 meters on his second jump of the competition.

Also for the Matador men, Alex Butler finished sixth in the shot put posting a season-best of 57-0 (17.37) which was just ahead of teammate Derek Cooper who placed eight with a mark of 56-2 (17.12). Cooper also competed in the discus where he was 13th with a best of 166-2 (50.65).

On the track, the Matadors competed a quartet of sprinters in the 100 meters. Senior Bradley Ike finished 13th in qualifying with a time of 10.56 to lead the Matador contingent. Cole ran a season-best 10.77 to finish 33rd followed by Ben Santos (10.78) and David Reid (11.06).

For the Northridge women, Morgan Bogard finished a team-best third in the discus with a season-best 157-3 (47.93). Her throw is just off her lifetime-best of 157-8. In the javelin, Stephanie Ralls placed 13th with a best of 153-2 (46.69) and Whitney Hooks was eighth in the shot put after approaching her season-best with a mark of 45-10.75 (13.99).

On the track, Precious Watkins ran 12.11 to finish 39th in 100 meter qualifying while Stella Dugall (14.62) and LaShandra Batiste (14.71) ran in the 100 meter hurdles.
