Northridge, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge women's water polo program has announced the signing of Taitum Herrington to a National Letter of Intent.
Herrington will enter Northridge in the fall 2012 according to head coach Marcelo Leonardi.
Herrington, an attacker, is currently a senior at Tokay High School. She has gained experience with her play in the Lodi Water Polo Club and Olympic Development Program-Central Zone. She was also named a two-time first team All-San Joaquin Selection.
"Taitum is a defensive minded attacker with the ability to score on the perimeter," said Leonardi. "She moves well in the water and has very good balance. She brings the technical and tactical foundation due to her experience with the Olympic Development Program. She will make an immediate impact to our program."
Herrington said the Matadors are a perfect fit for her collegiate career and academics.
"When something is right for you, you just know it. That is why I visited Northridge. I knew this is where I wanted to play water polo. The coaching staff, the team, the school, everything was right for me, I know that going to Northridge, this will also help me become the best water polo player I can be and I am looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the water polo program."
