Northridge, Calif. – Lindsy Nelson scored a season-high five goals to lead 13th-ranked Cal State Northridge to a 14-4 victory over Bucknell University in the home opener for the Matadors on Tuesday afternoon at Campus Pool.
After the Matadors opened the game with a 3-2 first period lead, CSUN leashed out for four second period goals to take a 7-3 halftime lead. Two of the four goals were scored by Nelson.
Cal State Northridge extended its lead by outscoring the Bisons, 5-0, in the third period to take a 12-3 lead.
Melissa Doll, Kelcie Ferriera, Molly Henehan, and Jenny Jamison each scored two goals for the Matadors who won their fifth straight game to raise its season record to 9-11.
Cal State Northridge faces Occidental at 7 pm.
