CSUN Water Polo Travels To Cal Baptist Tournament

Riverside, Ca. –
The 17th-ranked Cal State Northridge water polo team will travel on Saturday (2/2/13) to compete in the Cal Baptist Tournament.

The Matadors will face Cal Baptist (9:00 am), Concordia (1:30 pm) and Cal State San Bernardino (6:00 pm).

CSUN is currently 3-1 with victories last weekend at the UCSB Invitational over UC San Diego (13-6), Pomona-Pitzer (19-7) and Sonoma State (11-4).

Lindsy Nelson has taken the early scoring lead for Cal State Northridge. Nelson scored 12 goals in 22 attempts (.545) along with seven steals, three assists and three field blocks at the UCSB Invitational. Nelson tallied a career-high seven goals against Sonoma State, breaking her personal best of five goals last year against Bucknell, Cal State Bakersfield and Cal State San Bernardino.

Nelson's seven goals tied the school record for single game goals that had been set by Chari Christopher against Wagner (3/13/03) and Whitey Delgado against Cal State Bakersfield (2/12/11).

Nelson now has 104 career goals in three seasons at Cal State Northridge, tied for ninth all-time with Christine Cruz (2005-07).
