#7 CSUN Defeats Whittier, 20-4 at CLU Invitational

Thousand Oaks, Ca. – Seventh-ranked Cal State Northridge opened tournament play at the Cal Lutheran Invitational with a 20-4 victory over Whittier College on Saturday morning.

The Matadors dominated play from start-to-finish. After a 5-1 first period lead, offense and defense again prevailed in the second period. CSUN scored another five goals to take a 10-1 halftime lead.

The lead grew to 15-5 after three periods.

Eleven players scored at least one goal for Cal State Northridge, Kelcie Ferreira led the Matador arsenal with four goals. MacKenzy Fowler added a season-high three goals.

Cal State Northridge continues play at 2:15 pm against Cal State East Bay.
