#7 CSUN Defeats Occidental, 17-2, at Cal Lutheran Invitational

Thousand Oaks, Ca. – Cal State Northridge, ranked seventh in the nation, continued to dominate play on Sunday morning at the Cal Lutheran Invitational.

On the strength of a balanced scoring attack that featured nine different scorers, the Matadors recorded a 17-2 victory over Occidental. Jenny Jamison led the offensive attack with four goals. Marisa Young and Celena Photopulos added three goals each.

Natalie Averell and Kiernan Davis continued to split time in the goalkeeping nets for CSUN. Averell collected four saves while Davis tallied three saves.

Cal State Northridge held Occidental scoreless until the third period. The Matadors led 5-0 after one period, and increased the advantage to 9-0 at the intermission.

Cal State Northridge will conclude tournament play at 3:30 pm against Chapman College.
